Mir wëlle bleiwe wat mir sinn
We want to stay who we are

In the mid-1970s, Dr. Glaesener found that his patients, young mothers or those about to become mothers, often felt uprooted when they arrived in Luxembourg. He spoke to his wife, Françoise, who, with the help of her sister-in-law, Marie-Françoise, created Luxembourg Accueil Information in 1977.

At first, a simple office on rue du Nord, for a few hours a week, was opened in an annex of the concept store Maison Moderne. But 10 years later, an association of 300 members was established at 10 Bisserwee, in the Grund, with the support of the City of Luxembourg.

Over the decades, the Accueil has been keen to keep the dynamism of its beginnings and to be in resonance with the reality of the country. Everyone is welcome, expatriates or native Luxembourgers, and this is what enriches us.

Many families leave and many others arrive, but the discourse of those who arrived last year remains the same as that of the young mothers in the 70s. Some days are difficult and it is important to find a cocoon, a warm moment, a breath of fresh air, which is our reason for being.

The country has undergone many changes and is very dynamic, but it is still intimate. Everything exists in Luxembourg, but you have to know where to look. And that's why Luxembourg Accueil Information is there for you.
